    Description

The KY INBRE Core Utilization Voucher Program provides Kentucky investigators with access to scientific core facilities at the University of Louisville (UofL) and the University of Kentucky (UK). Run by Kentucky IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence, the program supports core services and related training that enhance research programs and generate preliminary data for grant applications. Priority is given to researchers at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs), although UK and UofL researchers are also eligible.

When appropriate cores are unavailable or overutilized within the KY INBRE network, participating Southeast Region INBRE cores in West Virginia, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Mississippi offer additional access. Projects incorporating new preparation protocols and methods development are encouraged. Review emphasizes scientific merit, public health relevance, student involvement, experimental design, and feasibility, with plans to use the resulting data for publications or grant applications.
