The Cornell Center for Social Sciences (CCSS) Seed Grants jump-start social science research at Cornell University, with funding from CCSS and Cornell’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. The program prioritizes projects with strong potential to attract external funding, build collaborations among Cornell faculty, or produce significant scholarly and policy outcomes.
Supported work includes completing a book, conducting new analysis for a revise-and-resubmit at a prominent journal, and producing substantial policy impact. The program also supports teams spanning social science disciplines or units and interdisciplinary projects led or co-led by social scientists. CCSS takes a broad approach to social science, generally supporting research eligible for relevant NSF, NIH, and Department of Energy social science funding.
