Description
The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Programs funds technology implementation at sites participating in the Wisconsin Deflection Initiative (WDI). WDI brings deflection programs together to connect people with treatment and recovery services as an alternative to, or alongside, traditional criminal justice responses to opioid and substance use.
Projects may implement software, applications, or equipment that make screening and assessment more efficient at the point of contact; support mobile case management, field documentation, and service coordination; or improve participant engagement through reminders, secure messaging, and resource sharing. Applicants may address one, two, or all three areas. The goal is to improve program effectiveness, data collection, participant retention, and staff efficiency.
