Cotton Incorporated’s Producer State Support Program funds cotton research, educational activities, and extension programs addressing the interests of producers in individual states. Primarily managed by the Agricultural and Environmental Research Division (AERD), the program connects state priorities with the objectives, strategies, and activities of the national Cotton Research and Promotion Program. Supported activities include cooperative research, cotton field days, breeder’s tours, and meeting support.
State Committees work with Cotton Incorporated to identify strategic research priorities, develop project initiatives, and recommend funding. Committees may partner across states on coordinated regional research or support cooperators at institutions outside their own state. Cotton Incorporated provides technical review, makes final funding decisions, and oversees projects in collaboration with the committees.
