--- ## Description The Cottrell IMPACT Award recognizes the significant national impact of a Cottrell Scholar or Holland Award recipient in science, specifically through leadership and service activities. The award aims to encourage excellence in academic leadership within the Cottrell Scholar community and beyond, while raising the national profile of Cottrell Scholars and Holland Awardees. Recipients receive a $5,000 cash prize, are invited to deliver a plenary talk at the summer Cottrell Scholar Conference, and are recognized in professional journals. --- ## Due Dates - **November 18, 2025**: Nomination deadline (nominations must be completed in PRISM by 11:59 p.m. MST) - **January 21, 2026**: Full application package deadline (applicant materials, not including letters of support; submit in PRISM by 11:59 p.m. MST) - **February 4, 2026**: Support letters submission deadline (two letters must be submitted in PRISM by 11:59 p.m. MST) --- ## Funding Amount - $5,000 cash prize to the awardee. - Additional recognition includes an invitation to present a plenary talk at the Cottrell Scholar Conference and acknowledgment in professional journals. --- ## Eligibility - **Cottrell Scholars**: Must be at least 12 years beyond the year of their Cottrell Scholar Award and hold an academic position at a research university or primarily undergraduate institution. For the 2026 award, only those who received their award in 2014 or earlier are eligible. - **Holland Awardees**: Eligible regardless of the year of their award. - **Previous IMPACT Award recipients**: Not eligible. - **Nomination**: Required; can be submitted by a Cottrell Scholar, Holland Awardee, or institutional colleague (self-nominations allowed). --- ## Application Process 1. **Nomination**: Submit a brief nomination via the [PRISM portal](https://prism.rescorp.org/) by November 18, 2025.
