Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) provides this grant to support wildlife management on county forest lands. It emphasizes forest wildlife habitat improvements, wildlife inventories and education that increases public understanding of wildlife. Projects must be critically important to improving or enhancing wildlife populations, their habitat or public understanding of wildlife.
The program connects funded work to county forest management. Projects must be documented in the county’s comprehensive land use plan, included in its annual work plan and budget, and approved locally by the DNR wildlife biologist and county forest administrator.
