Description
The California State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Financial Assistance offers this solicitation through its Safe and Affordable Funding for Equity and Resilience (SAFER) Program. It supports county-wide and regional programs for state small water systems and domestic wells serving disadvantaged communities and low-income households. Proposals may also address specific public water system needs when county support is needed for an urgent drought response.
Programs can assess needs through community outreach and domestic well testing; provide bottled water, hauled water, kiosk filling stations, or point-of-use or point-of-entry treatment; and pursue longer-term well repairs, replacements, or limited-scale consolidation. A central goal is to establish regional programs before urgent needs arise so recipients can respond promptly.
