Description
The Computing Research Association’s annual Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentoring Award recognizes individual faculty members with a sustained and proven record of exceptional undergraduate research mentorship in computing. It honors mentors who combine research experiences with guidance on admission and matriculation to research-focused graduate programs. Recognized mentoring records are often at least a decade long.
The selection committee examines advising and mentoring during the most recent 10 years, including students’ subsequent career paths, professional development, and the impact and success of their research. It considers program size, different institution types, and different faculty positions and career stages. Personal engagement with students is central to the award, rather than management of an undergraduate research program alone. Multiple recipients may be selected each year.
