Description
The Craig M. Cogut Visiting Professorship brings leading scholars from Latin America and the Caribbean to Brown University to teach and conduct research across a wide variety of fields. Visiting professors are appointed through the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS), part of the Watson School for International and Public Affairs.
The appointment combines scholarly research with undergraduate teaching and engagement with Brown’s undergraduate and graduate students. Visiting professors meet regularly with students and present their work on campus through CLACS or affiliated units. They teach one undergraduate course on Latin America and/or the Caribbean each semester, or participate fully as a co-teacher in an existing Brown course.
