    Description

The Crane Fellowship in Law and Public Policy is a full-time visiting program offered by the Program in Law and Public Policy at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA). For the 2027–28 academic year, it supports legal scholars actively researching and writing about contemporary issues at the intersection of law and public policy. Fellows pursue their own projects, with emphasis on scholarly significance, advancing thought on policy-important problems, and work that would benefit from being conducted at SPIA.

Intellectual exchange is central to the fellowship. Fellows contribute to SPIA’s academic life through a weekly works-in-progress lunch seminar with Princeton colleagues and visiting speakers. They also conceive and organize an interdisciplinary Problem-Solving Workshop addressing a policy problem related to their research. No teaching is required.
