Description
The Colorado Division of Housing (DOH), within the Department of Local Affairs, administers this coordinated initiative with the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) and local municipalities. It supports permanent, community-based housing that combines affordable homes, tenancy rights and responsibilities, supportive services, and links to intensive supports. The goal is to help extremely low-income people experiencing homelessness live independently, maintain housing stability, improve health outcomes, and reduce emergency system utilization.
The RFA brings together project-based rental assistance, affordable housing development loans or grants, and Denver-specific tenancy support resources. Review considers community partnerships, service quality, supportive services budgets, and project feasibility. Participation is encouraged, but not required, for supportive housing projects seeking CHFA tax credits, permanent loans, or private activity bonds.
