Description
The Creative Communities Initiative funds multi-year, community-driven arts projects in Pennsylvania that act as catalysts for social cohesion, livability, and both community and economic development. Rooted in the principles of creative placemaking and placekeeping, this program encourages projects that integrate art, local culture, and design to transform public spaces into vibrant, inclusive environments. The initiative seeks to empower communities—especially those that have experienced disinvestment—by fostering partnerships among local governments, organizations, artists, and residents, and by supporting projects that address local challenges, celebrate unique identities, and promote community engagement and revitalization.
