Creative Individuals is a pilot program administered by the Minnesota State Arts Board. It helps individual artists and culture bearers develop or sustain their creative practices while meaningfully connecting with Minnesotans. Funding supports creative work alongside engagement with audiences, participants, students, and communities during the grant period.
The program encompasses dance, media arts, music, photography, poetry, prose, theater, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional visual art. It also supports culture bearers trained by traditional elders or master artists whose practices reflect a community’s cultural life. The program brings support for individual creative practice together with meaningful connections to the people who encounter or participate in that work.
