Description
The Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship is administered by Indy Arts Council and funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc. It supports professional artists and nonprofit arts administrators in central Indiana, including those working in music, dance, theatre, literature, and visual arts. The program gives fellows the opportunity to step away from their usual demands and reconnect with their creativity, well-being, or personal goals rather than produce a specific artistic project.
Renewal experiences are shaped by each fellow’s interests and needs. Past activities have included cultural travel, exploration of new or familiar artistic practices, genealogical research, heritage pilgrimages, wellness and artistic retreats, spiritual guidance, and personal health support. Established in 1999, the fellowship rests on the belief that the region benefits when its creative community is refreshed and inspired to continue its work.
