    Description

This grant supports research and innovation actions aimed at analyzing and addressing the complex relationship between addictions (such as gambling, drugs, or alcohol) and crime, both online and offline. The objective is to develop modern methodologies, tools, and training curricula to prevent addiction-driven crimes, with a particular focus on young people at risk. Projects are expected to deliver evidence-based recommendations for modernizing the criminal justice system’s approach to addiction-related offenses, foster novel collaborations among police, civil society, psychologists, and local actors, and enhance community resilience and safety. A multidisciplinary approach is required, integrating social sciences and humanities, with attention to gender-sensitive research and the needs of diverse groups. Proposals should also plan for the uptake and scaling of results at national and EU levels and coordinate with relevant EU agencies.
