Description
The SBSI Interdisciplinary Small Grant Program, administered by the Center for Social & Behavioral Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is designed to foster innovative, interdisciplinary research collaborations in the social and behavioral sciences. The program supports research teams integrating diverse disciplinary perspectives, methods, and expertise to address complex societal problems. Projects must be grounded in social and behavioral science theory and evidence and should demonstrate potential for significant impact and future external funding.
The program emphasizes team-based research that meaningfully integrates multiple forms of expertise, aiming to generate new generalizable knowledge or practical solutions. Projects should align with at least one of the SBSI's five impact areas: Technology & Society, Health & Well-Being, Institutions & Organizations, Equity, Access & Belonging, and Environment & Society.
