Prior recipients may now apply annually after submitting all prior award reports; fiscal sponsorships are prohibited, and funds should generally be spent within 10 months rather than 12.

Description
The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) provides general operating support to established arts-based organizations serving the region. Cultural Resources supports six areas: arts councils, communication arts, craft, performing arts, visual arts, and WNC history and places of cultural significance. The program uses a simple online application to award small grants supporting organizations’ ongoing work.
Its cultural preservation focus includes organizations promoting the traditions, values, and lifestyles of different cultural groups to encourage understanding and respect for WNC’s cultural heritages. It also encompasses historically, architecturally, archaeologically, or culturally significant buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts. War monuments, memorials, and sites promoting division, disrespect, or animosity are excluded.
