Description
Culture Blocks is funded by Mecklenburg County and administered by the Arts and Science Council (ASC), in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Libraries and Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation. It supports free arts, science, and history experiences shaped by residents and delivered close to where they live, particularly in historically underserved neighborhoods with limited cultural access.
Programming can include visual arts, dance, theater, writing, photography, culinary arts, and music workshops, along with film screenings, concerts, festivals, and multicultural events. Experiences take place in public libraries, recreation centers, parks, and other community spaces. The program serves neighborhoods in Charlotte, Cornelius, Huntersville, Davidson, Matthews, Mint Hill, and Pineville, emphasizing community-responsive programming and a variety of audiences and cultural experiences.
