    Description

Cummings Foundation supports local charitable work in greater Boston through multi-year grants in human services, fairness and justice, education, healthcare, and the environment. Supported work includes housing and food security, anti-poverty services, disability support, employment training, immigrant and refugee assistance, legal assistance, senior and youth services, anti-hate efforts, opportunity-gap remediation, mentoring, tutoring, and mental healthcare. Environmental priorities include education, equitable outdoor access, waste reduction, and sustainable agriculture and food systems.

Nearly all awards provide unrestricted general operating support for staffing, administration, technology, facilities, supplies, services, and other core needs. Proposals should explain how funding would strengthen the organization’s overall mission and impact, rather than request support for a discrete project. Restricted awards remain available for specified applicant categories.
