    Description

FRAXA Research Foundation’s Curative Therapies Grant accelerates the development of treatments and ultimately a cure for Fragile X syndrome. The program supports disease-modifying approaches grounded in Fragile X disease mechanisms, including gene therapy, gene repair, gene reactivation, protein replacement, mRNA therapeutics, and targeted ASO treatments. Research may also address enhanced model systems, biomarkers, and specific therapeutic development, provided all work is directed specifically at Fragile X therapeutics.

FRAXA funds scientists worldwide and prioritizes projects with clear practical applications whose results will be shared promptly. Its goal is to bring practical treatments into medical practice as quickly as possible. The foundation continually reassesses research priorities to remove bottlenecks in treatment development; basic disease-mechanism research is now a lower priority, while clinical trials are a high priority.
