VIA Art Fund has awarded its Curatorial Fellowship annually since 2017 to foster ambitious curatorial research and enhance its grantmaking. The fellowship supports a contemporary art curator whose past accomplishments and current aspirations demonstrate the potential for significant contributions to the field. Discretionary support enables exhibition research, travel, professional development, and the broader development of the curator’s area of inquiry.
The program combines support for individual curatorial practice with participation in VIA partner programs. By engaging leading curatorial voices, VIA aims to advance visionary work in contemporary art while informing its funding decisions. Supported research has explored artistic communities beyond major metropolitan centers, relationships with artists internationally, and intersections of identity, technology, and the natural environment.
