Description
The American Alpine Club’s Cutting Edge Grant, presented by Black Diamond, supports advanced climbing athletes pursuing world-class climbing and mountaineering objectives. It funds individuals planning expeditions to remote areas featuring unexplored mountain ranges, unclimbed peaks, difficult new routes, first free ascents, or similarly ambitious pursuits. Objectives undertaken in a low-impact style and with a leave-no-trace mentality receive favorable consideration.
The program continues the Club’s century-long tradition of supporting pioneering expeditions and encouraging climbers to push their physical and mental limits. Alongside climbing achievement, the grant emphasizes responsible mountain stewardship and sharing expedition experiences with the broader climbing community through trip reports, photography, articles, and public engagement.
