Description
The Cutting Edge Grant, presented by the American Alpine Club in partnership with Black Diamond, funds advanced climbing athletes pursuing world-class mountaineering and climbing objectives. This program is designed for expeditions targeting remote and unexplored mountain ranges, unclimbed peaks, difficult new routes, first free ascents, or similarly ambitious goals. Proposals are evaluated based on the expedition’s objective, the applicant’s climbing experience, and the potential for success. The grant strongly encourages a low-impact, leave-no-trace approach and expects recipients to provide high-quality documentation and storytelling about their expeditions. Awardees act as ambassadors for the American Alpine Club, upholding its mission and values in the global climbing community.
