Description
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) administers this competitive opportunity with federal Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program funding. It supports recovery courts, behavioral health dockets, and veterans’ treatment dockets seeking to expand capacity, improve acceptance rates, and increase graduation rates.
Localities may plan and begin implementing a specialty docket, implement one already through the planning phase, or enhance an operating docket approved by the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Projects may address evidence-based curricula, stakeholder training, treatment resources, and supportive services. Funding full-time program staff is discouraged because of the limited award period.
