Description
The Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Fellowship is a competitive program administered by the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum. It supports three- to twelve-month periods of in-residence research and writing in aviation and space history for predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars.
The program encourages work that is scholarly in tone and substance and directed toward publication. Predoctoral fellows pursue doctoral dissertation research; postdoctoral fellows develop articles for peer-reviewed journals or books intended for reputable publishers. Projects are assessed for their scholarly merit, contribution to aviation and space history, use of Museum resources and staff, and potential contribution to Museum programs.
