Description
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution offers American Revolution Legacy Grants to preschool through post-secondary teachers and administrators for new educational initiatives and student programs. Administered through DAR’s Community Classroom Committee, the program supports academic performance and creative approaches to higher levels of student learning. Projects must align with the theme “Shining Light on the Classroom: Honoring our Legacy of the American Revolution.”
Requests must focus on a project, not a purchase, and demonstrate authentic planning and original thought. Examples include a school musical, museum field trip, science fair exploring Revolutionary-era inventions, American history club, History-Bee, or traveling American Revolution exhibit. Instructional materials and parent involvement programs may qualify when they connect the theme with student achievement.
