Description
Established in 2018, this fellowship is administered by the American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) to support an individual pursuing research in optometric history. It enables researchers and students to visit libraries, archives, and museums to further their work, with award funds designated for educational and/or research purposes.
The biennial fellowship is open to optometrists, optometry students, and individuals outside optometry, such as historians and librarians, at any career stage from student through retirement. Its support for historical inquiry includes a commitment to sharing progress in a form suitable for Hindsight, the Optometric Historical Society’s quarterly publication.
