Description
The Public Works Board, through the Washington State Department of Commerce, administers this one-time emergency grant program authorized in the 2026 Supplemental Capital Budget. It funds public works projects made necessary by the December 2025 weather event identified in Governor Ferguson’s Emergency Proclamation 25-07.2.
Projects must deliver long-term environmental benefits and increase resilience to climate change impacts. The program is supported by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, which directs cap-and-invest funding toward climate action. Grants are awarded on a non-competitive, first-come, first-served basis until the available funding is exhausted.
