This Fulbright Distinguished Scholar award enables senior and mid-career U.S. academics and professionals to participate in the Iceland Deep Drilling Project (IDDP-3), focusing on superhot and supercritical geothermal resources at depths of 3–4 kilometers and temperatures near 400°C. Scholars will collaborate with leading Icelandic institutions (University of Iceland, Reykjavik University, Reykjavík Energy) on research and professional activities such as high-temperature drilling, corrosion-resistant materials, reservoir monitoring, and geothermal system utilization. The award aims to foster international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovative solutions in energy and earth sciences.
