The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) is a federal-state economic development program supporting economically distressed communities in a designated 21-county area of western Kentucky. It funds community development projects focused on infrastructure development, business development and entrepreneurship, and job training services. The program helps communities leverage other federal, state, and local dollars, giving priority to projects that draw on additional funding sources.
Kentucky’s Department for Local Government (DLG) and the Governor help identify priority projects for recommendation to DRA. The Green River, Pennyrile, and Purchase Area Development Districts facilitate the application process. DRA reviews projects and makes final grant approvals through its Federal Co-Chair.
