Description
Florida’s Diesel Emissions Mitigation Program (DEMP), administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), provides funding for projects that reduce diesel emissions from mobile sources statewide. The program leverages funds from the Volkswagen Settlement and the EPA Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) to support the replacement or repowering of older diesel vehicles and equipment—including municipal service trucks, port drayage trucks, garbage trucks, marine vessels, switcher locomotives, transit and school buses—as well as the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI). DEMP prioritizes projects in areas affected by disaster recovery, environmental and economic challenges, and those promising significant air quality improvements.
