Description
The Dental Safety Net Grant is administered by the Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC). Authorized by Minnesota Statute 145.929, it supports eligible nonprofit dental providers offering free or reduced-cost oral health care to low-income patients under age 21 who lack insurance coverage for dental services.
The program directs support toward the dental safety net through annual awards. Funding is distributed proportionally among eligible programs according to the total number of uninsured patients under age 21 they serve, tying support to the volume of young people receiving care.
