The Design History Society (DHS) offers speaker bursaries to help student and precariously-employed members present papers at its annual conference. The support covers conference participation and contributes towards travel and accommodation, helping recipients share design history research and collaborate across a global community.
The programme values original, significant contributions to the conference theme and to design history and its dissemination. DHS encourages applications representing diverse perspectives or foregrounding under-represented narratives. Applicants are also asked to consider environmentally-conscious approaches to travel, participation and resource use, including research grounded in decolonial methodologies that centre the environment. Online research and digital dissemination are encouraged.
