Description
The DFG Research Centres programme is a flagship initiative by the German Research Foundation (DFG) to establish a select number of internationally visible and competitive research centres at German universities. These centres are designed to enhance a university’s research profile, support the development of strategic research priorities, and create excellent working conditions for early career researchers. Each centre is expected to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, integrate into existing university structures, and encourage networking with other institutions and industry partners. Funding is provided in response to thematic calls, with the aim of concentrating scientific expertise in innovative fields and establishing temporary, high-profile research priorities.
