Description
The German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) invite joint proposals for International Research Training Groups. The programme brings established collaborators at German and Canadian institutions together around a coherent research and training programme. It supports innovative research alongside structured development and joint supervision for doctoral researchers.
The groups pursue shared research objectives through complementary expertise at both sites. Regular exchanges, including extended reciprocal research visits by doctoral researchers, are central to the programme. Proposals may cover subjects within SSHRC’s remit, particularly social sciences and humanities research not primarily focused on health or health service delivery. Interdisciplinary work is encouraged.
