Description
This program funds innovative research on the development, validation, and clinical application of peripheral biomarkers (e.g., blood, saliva, urine, ocular) relevant to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The initiative emphasizes projects that establish a biological link to disease mechanisms such as neuroinflammation, neuroprotection, vascular injury, synaptic integrity, and protein misfolding. In addition to financial support, awardees gain access to industry and regulatory consultants and can participate in a biobank sharing program, providing access to well-characterized samples from major pharmaceutical trials to facilitate biomarker validation.
