Cybersecure tools, technologies and services relying on AI supports Cyber Hubs, incident response teams and authorities with AI-based tools to improve threat detection, response and recovery.
Funder: Digital Europe Programme
Due Dates: September 1, 2026 (Opening) | January 14, 2027 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: €3 million–€5 million EU contribution per project; €15 million total topic budget; 4 expected grants
Summary: Supports development and deployment of secure AI-powered cybersecurity tools for Cyber Hubs, incident response teams and national authorities.
Key Information: Developed systems, tools and services must be available for licensing to relevant cybersecurity authorities under favourable market conditions.
This Digital Europe Programme topic supports the development and deployment of AI-based cybersecurity systems, including generative AI, to strengthen European cybersecurity operations. It targets capabilities for National and Cross-Border Cyber Hubs, computer security incident response teams (CSIRTs), national cybersecurity centres, competent authorities and other relevant stakeholders. Expected results include tools tested and validated in relevant conditions, automated cybersecurity processes, and original European cyber threat intelligence (CTI) feeds or services.
Projects should improve threat and vulnerability detection, incident response, recovery and secure information sharing. The topic also addresses the security of AI itself, including risks during learning, supply-chain vulnerabilities and malicious misuse. Solutions should be robust, trustworthy and secure, comply with the AI Act, intellectual property legislation and GDPR, and contribute to standardisation and cybersecurity certification.
