Description
The Immigration and Ethnic History Society (IEHS) supports digital scholarship that explores how digital history can transform research and teaching while making migration history more accessible to scholars and the public. The grants prioritize innovative digital methods grounded in clear historical questions, with attention to feasibility, sustainability, scholarly usefulness, and broader public engagement.
Supported activities include data entry and digitization, open-access tools and resources, digital skill-building workshops and conferences, computational analysis of immigration data, digital publications and archives, exhibits, mapping and geospatial analysis, and interactive or media-rich narratives. Projects should demonstrate the viability of digital approaches to historical research and address the ethical responsibilities of creating, using, and preserving digital materials.
