Description
The National Council on Aging’s Direct Care Workforce Strategies Center, funded by the Administration for Community Living, works with state agencies and partners to strengthen direct care workforce systems. Its technical assistance helps states improve recruitment, training, and retention while building capacity for sustainable workforce solutions.
Strategies Center staff and subject matter experts help participating states identify priorities, develop actionable strategies, and set measurable milestones. Support can address worker well-being and job quality; training, credentials, and career pathways; workforce data; or coordination across Medicaid, workforce, aging, disability, education, and economic development systems. States also gain access to peer learning, expert consultation, and practical resources.
