The Discovering the Future of AI Grant Program provides University of Pennsylvania faculty with resources to pursue transformative research and educational initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications. The program aims to catalyze interdisciplinary collaboration between AI specialists and domain experts from a wide spectrum of disciplines, supporting projects that advance both foundational AI research and innovative applications in fields such as business, education, health, science, and society. Funding is intended to unlock new frontiers of discovery and amplify the impact of AI research and education at Penn.
Supported activities include the development of novel AI models, creation of unique datasets, support for graduate students or postdoctoral fellows, applied research addressing real-world challenges, and the advancement of educational programs leveraging AI. Projects that demonstrate significant outcomes and broad impact at Penn may be eligible for additional funding in subsequent years.
