The Discovery Research Future Leaders Fellowship provides extensive support for outstanding non-clinician researchers aiming to establish themselves as independent leaders in cardiovascular science. The scheme funds fellows for up to 7 years, enabling them to lead their own research projects and teams within a UK host institution. The fellowship is open to those returning from industry, a career break, or applying from outside the UK, and emphasizes institutional commitment, mentorship, and a strong record of research excellence. Funding covers salary, research costs, equipment, and additional support for career and research development. Fellows are expected to submit progress reports and are encouraged to seek tenured positions upon completion.
