The Discovery Research Senior Fellowship is designed to support established leaders in cardiovascular research as they progress toward leading large-scale research programmes and securing professorship funding. This fellowship targets non-clinician scientists—including, but not limited to, bench-based discovery scientists, epidemiologists, data scientists, geneticists, engineers, and behavioural scientists—who are working on cardiovascular research projects. The scheme emphasizes career development, leadership, and fostering independence, with strong institutional support and mentoring as key components. The fellowship is also open to researchers returning from industry, a career break, or those working internationally who wish to relocate to the UK.
