Description
FloridaCommerce’s Dislocated Worker Grant Program connects workers affected by major dislocations, including natural disasters, with temporary disaster-relief employment. National Dislocated Worker Grants support jobs addressing the structural and humanitarian needs of residents in areas affected by a federally declared emergency or major disaster.
Supported work is restricted to providing food, clothing, shelter and other humanitarian assistance for disaster victims, or demolition, cleaning, repair, renovation and reconstruction of damaged structures and facilities. The program combines temporary employment with recovery activities that meet residents’ immediate needs and address physical damage.
