Description
The Distinguished Mycologist Award is an annual career honor presented by the Mycological Society of America (MSA). One of the Society’s highest awards, it recognizes individuals who have established an outstanding record in mycology rather than supporting a proposed research project. The award acknowledges both scientific contributions and service as central elements of a distinguished career.
Administered by the MSA Distinctions Committee, the award evaluates nominees on the quality, originality, and quantity of their published research, together with service to MSA or mycology more broadly. Recognition includes a plaque presented during the Society’s annual meeting and publication of the recipient’s name in the meeting program and Inoculum.
