Description
This Fulbright Distinguished Scholar award supports one scholar undertaking teaching or combined teaching and research at the University of Gdańsk in Poland. The scholar must teach one regular undergraduate or graduate course in the Faculty of History, Faculty of Philology, or Faculty of Social Sciences. Additional activities may include research chosen by the scholar or designated by the host, workshops, talks, consultation with researchers, student mentoring, and faculty or curriculum development.
The award advances Fulbright’s mission of strengthening relationships between Americans and people of other nations through international understanding and cooperation. Scholars gain access to university research centers, local archives, museum collections, and fieldwork opportunities. They may also join collaborative research projects, contribute to specialized seminars, and co-develop courses within English-language programs.
