Description
This Fulbright Distinguished Scholar teaching award supports one U.S. scholar at the American Studies Center (ASC), University of Warsaw. Offered through the Fulbright Scholar Program and the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission, it focuses on American Studies and related humanities and social sciences, including sociology, economics, politics, history, culture, art history, and literature. Interdisciplinary approaches and Western Hemispheric studies are also areas of interest.
The scholar teaches one graduate research proseminar and one undergraduate themed elective each semester, choosing both topics. Each course meets weekly for 90 minutes over 15 weeks. Responsibilities also include public lectures, graduate student advising, and participation in ASC’s academic life. Through teaching, mentoring, and host-community engagement, the award promotes international understanding and strengthens relationships between people in the United States and Poland.
