Description
The American Liver Foundation’s Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award recognizes a basic researcher or physician scientist with a longstanding commitment to scientific discovery and major contributions to basic liver research or its application in treating liver diseases. It honors an established record of scientific achievement rather than supporting a proposed research project. Contributions may be characterized as Basic Science or Translational/Clinical Research.
The nomination guidelines encourage supporters to highlight the nominee’s contributions to liver research, publication record, mentoring of trainees and other liver researchers, standing in the field, and involvement with the American Liver Foundation. Individuals may nominate themselves or a colleague, and self-nominations are encouraged.
