Description
Fulbright Israel’s Distinguished (Senior) Scholar Fellowship supports four-month visits to Israeli institutions of higher education by senior faculty members, professionals, and accomplished artists or writers. The program is open to all fields of knowledge, and proposed activities may involve research, lecturing, or a combination of both. Fellows independently arrange their institutional affiliations and develop their proposed programs of work with potential hosts.
Academic excellence, or equivalent professional or artistic excellence, is the primary selection priority. The program also values leadership and the skills needed to promote mutual understanding between the United States and Israel. Fulbright Israel seeks representation from the various geographic regions and ethnic groups of the United States among its American fellows. Alongside their host-institution activities, fellows have opportunities to participate in cultural and academic events organized by Fulbright Israel.
