The Distinguished Visiting Artist Appointments at MIT's Center for Art, Science & Technology (CAST) offer year-long residencies (with the possibility of renewal) to artists who have pre-existing collaborations with MIT faculty, departments, labs, or centers. The program is designed to foster ambitious, long-term artistic research and creative projects that are deeply embedded in MIT’s research and educational environment. Two primary tracks exist: the Dasha Zhukova Distinguished Visiting Artist Program (for artists in art, architecture, and design) and the Koerner Distinguished Visiting Artist Program (for performing arts disciplines).
