Funding Amounts: Honorarium: $500 per working day (up to two weeks); longer visits or tenured professors at a lower rate; up to $1,000 extra for Town and Gown events; expenses must be receipted and pre-approved.

Description
The Distinguished Visitors Fund is an internal research funding program at the University of Alberta that enables departments to invite nationally or internationally renowned scholars, artists, scientists, and professionals. The program is designed to enhance the university’s intellectual environment, foster research and scholarly engagement, and provide meaningful opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to interact with leading experts. The fund is administered by the Office of the Vice-President (Research) and aligns with the university’s strategic research priorities.
