The South Carolina Arts Commission’s District Arts Support Grants help school districts make the arts integral to the basic curriculum and daily classroom instruction. The program supports creative writing, dance, music, theatre, media arts, and visual art, using South Carolina’s 2026 College and Career Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency.
All funded activities must be rooted in the district’s Arts Education Strategic Plan. Support covers professional development, consultancies, comprehensive arts education planning, subgrants to arts teachers, classroom supplies and equipment, residencies, teaching artists, performances, field trips, and district-wide arts showcases and competitions. Priority goes to districts with limited or no FY26 ABC grant-funded schools, with additional consideration for districts located in or serving SCAC Opportunity Initiative Counties.
